Mom has been at Somerby for 9 days so far. And our experience has been 5star. The sales director, [name removed] was wonderful to work with from the very beginning and still helpful when I need her. My experience with [name removed], who helped us get situated from the point of sale until move in was also great! Mom seems to be getting good care though there is still confusion or uncertainty about when certain services like bathing, sheet changing will be regularly scheduled and performed. Friendly staff

Due to changing circumstances this is the third continuous care retirement community I have lived in and it is the best. I would give it 5 stars. The entire property, inside and out, is well maintained. The choices on food are varied and of high quality. There are plenty of activities for residents participation and the staff is friendly. We have been here for about a year and it is the third CCR community we have lived in. It is, by far, the best food quality. The administrative staff is very efficient and friendly. There is a wide variety of activities to choose from.

I was still in skilled nursing when I chose SOMERBY. My brother, who is my power of attorney, and sister-in-law made the initial tour of SOMERBY and reported back to me. Because they know me so well I trusted their judgment. They knew that the atmosphere and friendliness would appeal to me. But, they undersold the physical beauty of the facility and the food. Both of which are so appealing!

Hoping for a better alternative

The restaurant service is really really bad. The food is OK, but getting it can be a real challenge. In the end room cleaning/laundry that is supposed to happen once a week never does. I think maybe one time in about 10 months.
