My mom is at Avantara North. It is very good. The staff is great. It's just a nice facility. It's clean. Everybody is very helpful and pleasant. The food is good. My mom enjoyed it. They have a variety. She has never complained about it. She just said that it's very good. They have arts and crafts, exercises, and bingo. They always have something going on every day.

My brother is currently staying at Avantara North. They have professional physical therapy technicians who live on-site. They also have nurses and medical personnel right there in the facility. It's a stressful situation, but everybody there was helpful. Somebody there even helped him get his Medicare application done. He couldn't have gone there because we couldn't afford to until he got approved. I think they did it for him in just a couple of days, within a week, too, and that made our decision to…

I was a resident of Avantara nursing facility for about two months. It was a pleasant experience, and I received excellent care from all staff members. The facility is clean and well taken care of. Therapy was also excellent and pleasant to work with I would recommend this home to anyone who needs care for themselves or their family members .

I would not give this place even one star if possable!! As my mother was there for 12 days for the OT & PT. The therapy was the only thing that worked out for her there. All the other care was less than standards should allow. She was put in a room with the most disgusting carpeting that smelled so horrible that it made my eyes water. Care is a four letter word much abused here. While a few of the staff/workers are good and kind, focus is on making money. Doctors appointments are simply canceled out of convenience. It looks okay on the surface if you don’t look too deep. This is a very bad place. Realizing that the nursing home system is extremely corrupt in South Dakota, this place is worse than most.
