Unsafe environment despite stellar receptionist and tasty food

The Resident Care Director has poor organizational and leadership skills. This has lead to Mom's medications running out without my being notified in a timely manner. We had to scramble to get refills approved. Falls are not reported to the family. We only find out if Mom happens to mention it or if bruises are seen and we ask. My mother has developed dementia and the Azalea staff has been helpful, friendly and understanding. Though the facility doesn't advertise memory care, they help the residents anyway they can. Dementia is ubiquitous among the older population. Azalea realizes that and they are making do. I'm on a first name basis with the head nurse. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

A family member just moved out of Azalea Estates. The place was filthy. The carpets were filthy. The rooms were not clean. They clean the room with dirty mop water. They spend about 6 or 7 minutes cleaning each apartment. Sometimes they change the linens, sometimes they don't, it depends on how they're feeling. There's a resident that I know who pays someone to come in and clean her apartment because they just don't clean. If someone pushes their button, it can take 20 minutes to an hour for som…

I toured Azalea Estates and did not like this facility at all. It was way too expensive for what is provided and not very clean.
