Great Activities, Poor Resident Hygeine

Like others in our experience, Birchview excelled in some aspects, but was very poor in others. The good part was they have a lively activities program, and don't allow residents to veg out in their rooms all day. Lots of fun stuff going on, and mom loved that. The food was passable. Most of the staff was friendly. Clothes and sheets will get lost even if labelled, so don't get too attached. My main concern was that I don't know if mom ever got bathed (a sponge bath is not enough), nor did they ever wash her hair. …

My father-in-law is at Birchview Memory Care. They're excellent. We are so happy we have him there. We toured probably five or six different facilities, and by far, they have the nicest accommodation in terms of the way the place looked, the way that place smelled, the setup of the rooms, the relationship to the dining room and to the nurses' station, and how patients were moved around from place to place. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

One attendant tried to get my Dad out of bed and dropped him, not once, but twice. Totally unacceptable and ignoring all procedures. He looked like he’d been run over by a logging truck. I would think long and hard about putting your loved ones in this facility.

Carelessness leafs to death

My father suffered from Alzheimer's & was at Birch View. One day the gardner left the back gate open & my Dad wandered out. His body was not found for about 6 weeks.

Birchview is great! My father-in law lives here. Everyone is so helpful and answers all my questions about him. he really likes it here. plenty of activities to keep every one busy and opportunity to meet other people and make friends if they wish. I would highly recommend this facility!

My wife has been at Birchview for almost two years and I find the staff to be very accommodating and loving towards the residents.
