PositiveThe Brookdales in Scott’s Valley is an excellent property inside and out. The grounds are well maintained with benches to sit at, outside dining areas and even a small putting green. The best part about inside was the food! 3 meals a day including standards available every day. There are also snacks available in between meals. The room floor plans are simple with 2 types of each (studios . 1 bed rooms and 2 bedrooms ) . The hallways are wide and clean; the dining room is large with lots of seating. The elevators al…

I moved here six months ago. There are lots of activities here if you like to stay busy. I enjoy the art classes, jewelry classes, and exercise classes. There are talks about the Native Americans from this area, mental health, the ocean and its occupants, birds native to the area. Many of the talks are given by people on staff from UC Santa Cruz. You can learn sign language, do the giant crossword, trivia, scrabble, play card games. Music is brought to enjoy several times during the month. The staff is very friendl…

I chose this facility because of the access to church services, the handrails throughout the building, and the friendly atmosphere. However, the dining schedule feels very repetitive — Thursdays are always pasta night and Tuesdays are always Taco Tuesday with no substitutions or variety offered. More flexibility and meal options would make the experience much better.
