The facility and the people working there, that I have met, from the top down, are caring, considerate, respectful and helpful. It is the complete and total opposite of what we experienced at the previous facility where she lived.

Food wasn't spectacular just ok. Room was really nice. Staff cared about Mom. Bathroom was too small for Mom's wheelchair so that was a struggle. [name removed] the Director was so helpful going in and checking. [name removed], the facilities director was the best I have seen at any place. Mom was only there from [date removed].

We have toured the memory care facility of Brookdale Shawnee Kansas, multiple times for my mother, and it's excellent. The rooms were adequate, clean, and had all the amenities we needed for her. We had lunch with some people there, and the food was restaurant-quality. There's a monthly activities sheet posted as well as given to all people living there. There are many activities my mom can join in on once she gets settled, and she will enjoy them.

1. The longer my mom is there, the more comfortable it is. The staff has gotten to know her and is, her family. I feel they care for the residents. 2. Cleanliness- they have gotten new cleaning staff, and it's been really nice. They keep my mom's room clean. The common areas are very clean. 3. Was only one who would accept on short notice from release from brookdale rehab. If I would have known quality of care we would have went other places. They definitely can not manage diabetic care, the staffing was sparse at night, communication with physician and nurses not consistent, test results not recorded. The building had several leaks plumbing issues.

The cost is a little over $[fee removed]k for basic care. You can get the same cost for a private nurse for $[fee removed]/hr and your parents can stay home if a family member can stay nights with them. My mom needed extra care to keep her safe, so in mom's case Brookdale was a god send.
