I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother in law by marriage has been at D Oaks for over a year now. There are two dining rooms, a small one for assisted living folks and a larger one upstairs for more independent residents. The food is the same and he rates it as pretty good most times. They even provide wine at dinner! His apartment is adequate and someone is provided to help him shower at night and get into bed. Housekeeping and trash pickup and laundry is provided. Our only issue is that being a durable power of attorney for him, I pay his r…

I visited this facility

We went to Dominican Oaks in Santa Cruz. It's a beautiful, big community. I would highly rate them. They have a waiting list and were significantly more expensive. Their staff was great. The people that we met along during the tour were great. Their dining room was big. They have lots of outdoor dining that's beautiful. It's in a wooded setting, so it's very pretty. The building itself looks to be well maintained and well- appointed.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is a resident of the Dominican Oaks. The majority of the facility is for people who just need a little extra help. They have their own little apartments. My folks were in the assisted living thing together in a two-bedroom suite until Dad got to a point where that wasn't enough. The food is pretty good and it's a variety of types. Sometimes you like it, sometimes you don't. They have Mexican, Japanese, American. But it's high quality. They have lots of programs. It's a huge facility …

Luxury living designed to meet the needs elderly people

I've lived here for two years and I am very pleased with my life here. The community is very friendly and supportive. There are many activities offered here to keep our bodies and minds busy. Many of the programs are developed by and run by the residents, as well as by the professional staff. The food here is just marvelous; menus offer many options. My wife characterized the meals as "eating every meal at the Crow's Nest ",(our favorite local restaurant. The apartments are spacious and beautiful Living here is"h…

I moved to Dominican Oaks six years ago, and I can say with all honesty that it was a great decision. The staff are incredibly caring and welcoming, the other residents are friendly and compasionate, the food is really good and there's always something fun going on. It's got some lovely outdoor areas and I am actually finding it much more social than I originally thought it would be.

My father is in Dominican Oaks. The people are really friendly. It's a nice place physically. The food is really great. So far, he's happy. He has a nice one-bedroom with a balcony and a kitchen. It's very light, clean, and spacious.
