I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My biggest concern about Farmington Station Senior Living is that they're sending my loved one to the hospital for every little thing. They don't have enough ability to discern whether she needs to go to the hospital or not. Everything else is good. The accommodations are beautiful. The meal plan is great. They have good activities for people in assisted living. The food is good, too. The staff is accommodating and friendly. They just need to work on their medical guidelines and those that have the beginn…

Great place - would recommend it highly for assisted living

My husband loved his 2 respite care stays at Farmington Station. He had absolutely no complaints and neither we did I. I would have to give them a 5 for all 7 categories.

Welcoming and accommodating

I would rate everything a 5 except the food/dining as a 4. Mom was OK with the food, just not overjoyed.Having been a nurse for over 40 years, she always had a critical eye for the care she received. She praised far more staff than she complained about. The facilities were always well kept. While she didn't participate in many of the activities, we, her sons, appreciated knowing they were there.

Pleased for this caring community

With regard to #8, value for the money... It is tragic that providing quality care for aging and frail parents in their time of need comes down to how much remains of their savings. My mom is very apt to outlive her savings that have afforded her current living situation and we worry and dread that likely next move. It will be terribly disruptive for my mom, after several years of disruption. The cost of long term care is astronomical and adds significant stress for the caring family to an already tragic diagnosis.…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife moved to Farmington Station Senior Living. This particular facility is a purple flag facility. It was the first one in the state of Connecticut. It has a lot of staff. This particular unit has a lot of activities, which I was also interested in. I wanted to make sure that she wasn't just going to be sitting around and doing nothing. They have won awards for their food. Their food is supposedly very, very good. I tasted it, and I have to admit, it's really good. The staff is extremely helpful. They…

Review for Farmington Station, A Senior Living Residence

Beautiful well-maintained facilities and grounds. Friendly staff that are eager to make your stay comfortable. Price has increased nine percent in each of the last two years which will draw down savings more quickly forcing a move to skilled nursing facility. Connecticut does not fund assisted living facilities even though they are substantially cheaper than snf's.
