A very caring place

My sister has been at Gates House for the past six months and I highly recommend it. The staff is very friendly and caring. They also maintain a good connection with the family. I’ve been notified in a timely manner when any issues arise. Not what we expected and paid for.

I didn't feel he got the care we were expecting. Assistant Living seem nice but memory care need more help. Not everyone seemed qualified. No one was ever at the reception desk. You had to find someone to let you in the unit.

I toured Gates House. All the staff was very nice. It was clean, and the rooms were small, but I have found them comparably priced, with some less expensive and more amenities in this area. Plus, they were closer and more accessible. There is nothing around Gates House. There's a restaurant, maybe 25-30 minutes away, and that's about it. They showed where they eat. I went to see Gates House in Gatesville and was very impressed with it. One of their representatives is supposed to go to where my husband is now and evaluate him. I saw some of the assisted living, but the tour is mostly for memory care because my husband has Alzheimer's. I've been talking with one of their representatives for several days now, and she's always been punctual in getting back to me. She keeps me informed and gives me some assurance that they're trying to do what they can to help …

My mother-in-law is staying at The Gates House. It's a clean facility, and everybody has been nice so far. But I feel like we're probably not getting answers as far as trying to find out if they're cleaning her sheets and doing her laundry. And I'm not getting clear answers as to if she's getting the actual care that we're paying for.
