Golden Haven

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has moved into Golden Haven. They have a barber and a masseuse for massage therapy. Depending on your insurance, doctors could visit there, which is a big plus. The place is pretty big. Also, the director is really on top of things, which is a big plus. I know my dad liked the food, so that's a good thing. They have dancing, and they have different things there within the facility. They have a garden in the back.

We liked the doctor at Golden Haven even though the place was really run down. It looked like the people who cleaned the windows didn't do a good job. It looked clean when you walk in. The rooms were typical and didn't have carpets. You can have either semi-private or private rooms. They had activities for the residents. The staff was OK and showed us around. I commend every worker at golden haven. they are patients and on there job by keeping patients/ clients clean and comfortabl. my mom has live there for several years.I have no complaints it doesn’t have that Convelescent smell they pretty clean. They offer activities and proms for the Sr. and do a excellent job.

I visited this facility

Golden Haven was an older facility and kind of rundown. The staff seemed nice. It seemed clean enough, but it was dark and in need of repair. I had a friend who had her husband there because he became very violent with Alzheimer's and it was the only facility that would take him. I was very uncomfortable in that facility. They give good care, but aesthetically speaking, it was a turnoff for me. The parking lot was in disrepair. It would be my last choice. The rooms had two people to a room sharing a bathroom. …

Golden Haven

A family member lives there. The place is huge, secure, surveillance everywhere except bedrooms. The staff is ok. They dont always treat others nicely. My family member which is to remain anonymous has told me that they slapped face to get undressed and the staff can be quite mean even when you comply. The staff show visitors they are nice but what happens when you leave is another story. I am pretty sure that this type of a job is stressful but if you cant handle the heat get off the pot.
