PositiveHickory Glen community is a very clean place, the staff are super friendly and helpful and we really like that they are following the covid protocols pretty closely. The food is good, our loved one always has good things to say about the meals. There is a nice variety when it comes to the activities, they have a bulletin board that comes out with new things everyday and she really enjoys that. She has been able to make a bunch of new friends, and we would recommend Hickory Glen to other families.
★★★★★
PositiveIt's a wonderful place. The food is excellent. It seems like all we do is eat. The food is so good. They have good activities. I don't the timing of some of the activities, like exercising after meals.
★★★★★
PositiveIt's very warm and welcoming. My loved one has been very happy here, which has been wonderful after moving out of state. The other day I called, and she said she had to go because she had a friend over. That's best thing ever! The food is the biggest downfall right now. Something has changed, and it hasn't been as good lately. But the activities director has done a fabulous job, going around trying to get residents out doing what they can when they can. The cost is reasonable. I would recommend Hickory Glen as a go…

CriticalThe food here was alright when I first moved in, but once the pandemic hit it went downhill. They had to make food they could bring to you and deliver them into the rooms. I do think that the value for the money is good especially because of the food quality.
★★★★★
PositiveWe chose Hickory Glen because it was a better value for the money as well as the location. The apartment sizes here are very good, she is in a 1 bedroom and it is very nice for her needs. The best part about the community so far has been the friendliness of the staff members as well as the residents. She has been very satisfied.

CriticalThis facility was definitely 2nd rate compared with Bickford. The tour guide was nice, but she's the receptionist and we could tell she really wasn't prepared to give a tour. Compared to Bickford, the rooms were smaller, didn't have many lights, didn't have seat in the shower, didn't have a low entrance to shower and less closet space with no place to hang her hanging clothess.
