I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is in Holiday Regent. It's been very good. She's made good friends there, and she's enjoying it very much. She's had good interaction with the staff. They've been responsive and have taken good care of her. She has a basic one-room apartment, and it's big. It faces the east, so she gets lots of light. It's bright and airy, and she enjoys it. I visited this facility

Holiday Regent was pretty nice, but it wasn't really assisted living. It was just a senior retirement-type of environment. It had generally the same stuff as the other place, but it didn't meet our needs. We looked at a one-bedroom and a studio, and they're pretty much the same size. They had nice, decent bathrooms. Critical

The upgrade to the building made it feel industrial. I objected to music piped into the halls, as if I was in a department store. No stove in rooms; I would miss that convenience. I visited during the Christmas holidays and regret that few residents were present for me to get a sense of the community. Did not have extensive paths for walkers. I met only the weekend marketing person who was gracious and informative.
