Such a lively atmosphere

My parents have both resided at Homestead of Algona since 02/2023 and they absolutely love it. The staff that come in and give them their medications and showers are so kind and caring. When they moved in, my mom had very dry skin and was getting sores because she couldn’t bathe herself well. Since moving in the staff help her put on lotion every morning and she hasn’t had problems, her skin looks the best it has in a while! The nurse is wonderful and does a great job communicating with me and my siblings about any…

Not a positive experience

A new corporation recently took over the management of this facility. They do have a FEW direct care workers that are kind and knowledgeable workers. The facility is so poorly managed that the great workers they have seek positions elsewhere because they cannot survive in this hostile atmosphere. As a family member be prepared to advocate for your loved ones and do some of the personal cares yourself. They do not have enough staff and weekends there are even worse.
