Very caring and attentive

We moved our mother here to get more care. They have shown her much more attention and concern than the last place she was at. All of the staff that we have met have been very friendly and helpful when asked for something.

My late mom moved here during Covid in 2020. we were glad to get her out of another facitlity at [facility removed]. However, at almost 97 she did pass August 2023 and liked her one bedroom at this place. but the care had been much better at [facility removed] but a terrible sequence of 22 deaths there during the peak of Covid. I would not recommend this place. they appeared to make no effort to avoid Covid variants.

I toured Homestead of Overland Park, and its décor needed updating. It was a small community, but I didn't mind the size. They didn't have an in-house rehab facility, which is something I would prefer. My dad has Parkinson's and trouble with his feet, and I didn't like the shower. He'd have to step up and into the shower and that was really the kicker for us. The bathroom was also small, he wouldn't have been able to fit his wheelchair in there. They had carpet in the rooms, and if you didn't want carpet they had …

My loved one was a resident here and fell several times, finally resulting in death.

Great Community and Friendly Staff

All these ratings are based during COVID. The community did a great job when my loved one was there. I would recommend this community. The manager was very good, and the staff was very friendly.

We moved my father-in-law into the Gables at Overland Park. Giving him his medication is included within the monthly payment. There is lot of staff on-site, so you can always find someone. He loves the food. The staff is very friendly. It is a smaller, independently owned community, so they act like they actually care about my father-in-law’s well-being. They check in on him every couple of hours to see if he needs anything, so he is getting attention.
