CriticalResearch the financial status of this organization before you buy. They owe more than they bring in. They historically do NOT honor their contract. You will wait YEARS (many!) before you receive the 50% entrance fee refund, and that will only happen when you use the service of a lawyer. If you are in that position, contact the PA Insurance Commission - they provide oversight of CCRCs that charge large entrance fees.

PositiveJenner's Pond was a very lovely place. It has very nice people, and is very clean. It could offer me everything that I could want. I visited their independent living community, and the staff member who gave the tour was very thorough and very complete. She took me everywhere I wanted to go, so she's excellent. I didn't see any activities, but I know that they have posted many things to do. They keep the day very busy for the residents.

CriticalYou will not be able to speak to anyone in charge, no matter how many messages you leave. (up to 15 as of this morning) .They claim to have single rooms, but my mom has a roommate (with just a curtain in between). They have one nurse for all the patients on the wing and only two CNAs.

CriticalHad we been involved with signing the contract, we would have discouraged my father in law from moving into Jenner’s Pond. The contract is rather vague regarding the return of the entrance fee after the resident has passed away. Residents are treated as renters and they do not own the apartment. However, per the contract, you do not receive a refund of the entrance payment until they receive a replacement entrance payment. PositiveJenner's Pond was lovely and I had friends there, but it was too far for my family. The apartment was very nice. The staff was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and answered all my questions. The food was excellent. They have trips, people coming in to give lectures, an art show once a year, and a book sale once a year. There was everything that you could possibly want.
