CriticalThe Board of Health needs to shut this place down! It is filthy and always reeks of urine and feces, probably because the aids and nurses allow the residents to sit in their dirty diapers for hours. The staff and administration are horrible. The workers look miserable and unhappy. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

CriticalI toured John Scott House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The best thing was the therapist. They were good. The facility was a middle-aged, brick building. It's acceptable. The look and the building itself was fair, and clean. The staff would get a four thumbs down, and I only have two thumbs. The staff, as far the CNAs, the people who do the actual work, cleaning the beds, taking care of the patients are absolutely terrible.

CriticalMy friend is in John Scott House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She went in there for rehab and it was awful. No one gave her much time at all. She never got one shower. They were really rude. No one bothered to talk to her. She moved to their nursing facility and she just called me this morning crying that she's petrified. She's extremely unhappy. She's had things missing already. This is her third week, and she's had two showers. Someone left her on the toilet the other day and completely …

PositiveI stayed here when I was released from the hospital, The staff was wonderful. PT. OT. and strengthening my legs was their top priority. The food?? they had me on a diabetic diet, which I did not need. My numbers were crazy because I was dehydrated.

PositiveThis was my second experience as a short term, post surgical rehab patient. I chose John Scott House this second time. There’s nothing fancy here. But the superior quality of care and attentiveness more than makes up for that. You’re treated like family. People would greet me by name in the hallway and I’d have no idea who they were. Because everyone seemed to participate in the care plan. Rooms were small but had windows that opened to fresh air or AC. On nice days covered balconies offered a place to relax or hav…

PositiveI recently broke my ankle and was sent to John Scott for rehab. I was a little concerned about a rehab/nursing home in general based on the horrible perceptions of such facilities. All my fears and concerns were almost immediately eliminated after only a few days at this facility. I found senior management to be highly visible, extremely approachable and sincerely caring. Head nurses were continuously consulted by staff and extremely concerned with resident comfort and safety. Duty nurses were prompt, professional …
