Food is terrible

I have lived at Las Soleras for over a year now and the meals keep getting worse and worse. The building is beautiful but at the end of the day the services are not the best. They are planning on raising rates again and I'm not sure it's worth staying.

Im not too sure. The building is really nice and the apartment options are big but the staff seemed unhappy and I spoke to a few residents during my visit and they had a lot of complaints about service in the dining room.

So far so good

Everyone that I have had contact with, has been very helpful, supportive, and accommodating. I can't say much about the food, I have only eaten here a couple of times. So far, so good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The rooms are nice, the food is ok, but it can take up to 2 hours to get your meal, and you will be charged for any seconds including coffee or soda. Assisted living does not have good care, if they show up. They do not do laundry or change sheets and things "dissapear". Many of the staff are kids and have no training. My mother moved out after 3 1/2 months and my dad only stayed 3 weeks. They do not honor the contract and don't care!

First year review evaluation

My mother likes her new apartment but is finding the atmosphere inside the main bldg depressing and doesn't want to participate with activities inside as a result. I realize that's normal aging depression but it's what she has said. Also the food evidently is horrible and the residents have officially complained many times to no avail. My mother worked for many yrs with Kitchen Angels and is not complaining since she cooks for herself. But she is concerned about what will happen if she can't cook for herself there.

understaffed / poor dining conditions

Dining facility is constantly understaffed and runs out of food on a regular basis. Often times the meal portions are very small to make it last. The meals should be consistent every day and the kitchen management staff revamped.
