MAL (Madisonville Assisted Living) was home to two of my dear aunties for over five years. I’ve had other loved ones in different facilities over the years, MAL has been the best by far. There’s a significant emotional component trusting an outside agency with a loved one’s care. The team at MAL provided assurance and then walked out top notch care. From day one, they treated my precious aunties with dignity and respect. The staff is cohesive, caring, attentive and kind. They develop a relationship with the residen…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend is a resident of Madisonville Care Center. It's a very small place. So far they've done well. I mean, they don't have a nurse or anything on staff. They do have somebody that takes care of taking my friend to the doctor, and she likes the food, and the administrator is really good there. She's had good care there. They stay in contact with everybody. They always answer your call, and I think good people that work there are caring, and the food is good. They offer a couple of times a da…

My Mother in Law is currently living at the Madisonville Care Center Nursing Home. The staff are all wonderful and very caring. April Fox helped me tremendously in figuring out how to navigate the entire process. The rooms are spacious, clean and closets are very large. The staff answers any questions that I have and they keep my updated on anything going on with my Mother in Law. My Mother in Law is very happy here.

I visited this facility

My great aunt had to have a knee replacement 3 months ago and, since she doesn't have any children, I basically help her with her medical decisions. Since we both knew that after she was discharged from the hospital she would need some therapy, she and I looked at various nursing homes in the area that provided Medicare services. The week before she was scheduled to have her surgery, I called and arranged a tour at Madisonville Care Center. The person I talked to that set up the appointment was very nice and a…

This is one of only 2 care centers in this small town. I suppose the lack of competition is one of the reasons for the way it operates. It is just a generally dismal place. Most of the employees are gloomy and walk around in a state of oblivion. Everything looks dingy. I don't see how somebody could actually live in this place. Patients are set up in the halls and just sit there for hours, sliding out of seating or slowly tipping over. There is absolutely no activities or entertainment aside from the televisio…
