We liked Monterey Village Senior Living because it is newer and it is on the north side of town. It is not surrounded by other buildings. It is a tiny bit in the country, and my parents lived all their lives in the country. We thought that they would much prefer a view of some farm grounds and trees, rather than just being surrounded by buildings. They are in a double room with a separate bedroom. It is spacious.
