I visited this facility

Morning Pointe of Powell is very wide open and very personable. When you go in, the dining room is on the right and then they have a room where they can gather people together. The rooms were nice, too. I liked them and the people seemed very concerned and very interested in their residents. They have the singing group on Friday morning and then right after that, they have physical therapy. They also have places for them to sit with visiting family members. It just seemed to be a very well-run and well-kept place.

Bad experience and would not recommend

Our experience was bad, they unfortunately just could not keep the help. There was just not enough staffing and they had high turnover rates. The meals also were not very good, the residents would get sandwiches and hot dogs. Sometimes they would get specialty meals but not very often. The activities schedules looked great, but they never followed through with them.

Family atmosphere

It is a better fit for folks that do not need higher end care needs. Room size were good. Layout was good it in on one level. It is a lot of walking for someone not so mobile. The food is kind of bland. They have an outdoor garden area.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our Mother was a resident for a couple of years. When she first moved her there it was a very caring & loving place. There was very little turnover; you could tell they truly cared & were there for the right reasons. Then a new executive director & resident services director came on board & emphasis quickly switched from care to money. There was a constant turnover & low staffing. Even though you're told nurses are there 24/7, that is not true. Medication was consistently found on the floor…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

When looking for assisted living one needs to get a definition of what is assisted living? Remember you are speaking with a marketing advisor to sell you something! We had a relative there and only had medication given to him. He could bath and dress himself, of course at times maybe miss a button or two on a shirt or may need help with his shoes being tied, he was kicked out and the whole situation was handled very poorly and non caring. Family was given only 24hrs to get him out and locate a new facility. No cons…

This was a really nice tour. The people were helpful and they answered all of our questions. The place was beautiful. This just was not the right place for dad.
