CriticalOur father was transferred yesterday from [community removed]. When we went to visit we went into room he was in a wheelchair no water in room his call light in bed sheets not available to him No orientation made to him or to us his family! I believe there should be some contact to identify him as to where he is and to family on first visit a welcome smile from staff orientation as to visiting hours his plan of care what we should bring him! I am leaving so concerned! I stressed to him not to let staff leave him…

CriticalThe lady handling activities is wonderful. Avoid the outside assistant ( she's not a nurse ) This woman took advantage of my parents and at one time was charging $[removed]/week, cash payment. She was not an employee of NNSCC. I would recommend Northern Neck to people in that area; Warsaw and Tappahannock.

CriticalMy loved one was a resident at Northern Neck Senior Care Community. Overall, the experience at this facility was okay. The cleanliness was great. The friendliness and the food were okay. However, the administrator was only interested in the staff, not the residents. I would not recommend this facility to family and friends.

PositiveWe really like that the resident's care levels are lower so they are able to house more people and most of the staff members are really nice. They could have a few more nurses or aids over the weekends. The overall community is really clean but when it comes to house keeping in their individual rooms sometimes you can to remind them to clean. Also improvements with communication and availability for the families to reach the nursing staff and administration. The response time is not the best, sometimes we have to s…

PositiveI visited my girlfriend's mother who was at the Northern Neck Senior Community a few years ago. It was very nice. She had her own suite and they took such good care of her. She was in the early stages of Alzheimer's but as it progressed, she received more care. The nurses, the aides, and the whole place was set up beautifully. It was more like a country club. Her bedroom was large. It had a bathroom, a sitting area, and was large enough to have a two person sofa, and a recliner. She was able to pick her f…

PositiveEveryone was friendly during our tour to Northern Neck Senior Care Community. They all stopped and talked to us. We got to meet some of the nurses there and the head of the nursing did an evaluation with my mom. They were all very pleasant, very friendly, and they seemed well-staffed. The one that my mom will be moving into was actually a living room with a bedroom, a small kitchenette, and a bathroom, so it's more of a small apartment. They will provide the meals, so having a little kitchenette would be fine.…
