My husband was at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation of Grosse Pointe Woods. Everything was excellent, from the food to the staff, even the rehab that he got while he was there. Everything was top-notch. The staff was very attentive and caring. I'm not sure about the activities. He spent most of his time in his room watching television. The dining area was right next to his room. He had no complaints at all about the food, the regularity, or the times. There was just one thing I wasn't completely satisfi…

My primary complaint is a result of my first impression. The room was very stark and depressing. A little paint in more cheerful colors should be applied. No one wants to be here and when the room is so stark it makes things worse. The furniture was old and depressing. The clock did not work, really let's confuse someone with dementia by giving them a clock that never changes time! We tried to spruce up the room a bit but there is no place to put anything. A small ledge to place photos would do a lot to allow …

Shared run down rooms with broken equipment Food is ok but residents go hungry if they don't like what's on the menu. No alternatives or kitchen ignores menus residents are given offering alternatives. Nurses on second level in long term care ignore the needs of residents.

1/5 for cleanliness, but that is all. Jerome is nice on phone & getting you in, but stops there. Admitted family member there for rehabilitation after major surgery. Different nurses every day, all working 12 hour shifts just to get their time in. Good at talking, not so good at nursing. If you have a loved one that needs care, this is NOT the place to go.

My dad is staying at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation of Grosse Pointe Woods for long-term care. He's been there about a month, and he's in a shared room. The staff seemed nice. The place is fine and well-maintained.

Staff did not follow through on care instructions provided by hospital...relative ended up in hospital with stage 4 bedsore after wounds were not treated during a 7 day period...prescribed meds including blood thinner were not given during the 7 days spent here.
