I visited a friend at the independent living community of Phoebe Berks in Wernersville. The room seemed adequate, and the people seemed friendly. The upkeep of the room was fine, and it was very nice. From what I can tell, the place was well taken care of. I think they have too many amenities because people don't use them. The parking is very nice and adequate. They also have a patio and a garden, and it was nice to sit out there.

Everyone in the administrative process were helpful and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. The staff at the front desk were friendly. When we saw the house keepers the were polite and had nothing bad to say about our Dad. We felt comfortable approaching any staff member for help.

I think we selected the right place based on location alone. The staff seems to turn over a lot, but they still continue to give good care based on how my mom looks physically, I wish they were a little bit more personable, they don't talk to us that much. I really feel that early on in her stay some of the aides took the time to get to know us and my mom and I haven't felt that way recently.

I visited a family member at Phoebe Berks Village's independent living. They do the cleaning for you there. It's very expensive but the place is good if you can afford it. I like their food, recreational facilities, and the fact that there are a lot of activities going on. The food I tried was very good and they offer a lot of variety. Phoebe Berks Village is located right near where my son and daughter work. The room was comparable to what was in the other place. We were only looking at a one-bedroom, and they had a patio if you got one on the first floor, but I don't think they had any first floors available at this time. Phoebe Berks Village would have been my next choice. They provide two meals a day, though. In the room they include a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave.
