PositiveWe visited the independent living community of Sherwood Oaks, and we are moving into it. We chose it because it's a CCRC. It's very expensive, but if one of us needs assisted living or full-time nursing or memory care we could just stay in the same community. The food was also so much better than the five other places we visited. We are moving into a carriage home. It's much bigger than the patio homes or the apartments. Somebody checks in on us with a motion detector every morning at 11:00, and one …

PositiveMy father spent time in Sherwood Oaks. He was there for four months. They were very compassionate, thorough, and very responsive. I don't have anything negative to say. They're very good staff. They're always available. Great selection and a great variety of food. It's good. The building was good. The layout of the building seemed to be good. It was clean and well-kept. They had different kinds of activities like games, bingo, and movies occasionally. They have several different rooms. The skill…

PositiveSherwood Oaks was a lovely community. They had little homes/houses, and I thought they were small and quite outdated. Of course, you had to go outside to eat your meal in the dining room and then you had to go outside to your garage. The only person I saw was a woman who took me on a tour, and she was very pleasant. They seemed to have a lot of very nice activities. The woman took me to an art studio where some of the residents were painting pictures on their own. They have a bell choir where people are ringing bel…

PositiveIf my parents decide to move up to Sherwood Oaks, it would be the closest for them, location-wise. They had 1-bedrooms and 2-bedrooms, and some had porches. They had different rooms that seemed really good. A lot of people were playing various cards like Bridge, and everyone was very friendly in that community. They had a dining area and café. The dining area and the food were really good.
★★★★★
PositiveSherwood Oaks was above average and not a cheap place. The dining room was very nice. I know they do bus and shopping trips. The exterior was impressive, clean, had flowers, and smelled good.
★★★★★
PositiveSherwood Oaks was comprehensive. They provided skilled nursing and a retirement village as well. It was a full-spectrum facility. It was excellent and the kind of place I would consider going to myself. It was a larger facility than the other place I visited. It had a number of activities and different things available that a smaller facility could not supply.
