I toured the independent living community of Spiritwood at Pine Lake. It's a nice place up there, but it takes forever to get to where I want to be, like my activities. It's half an hour away from everything, even though it's close. I liked it, and it had its perks, but I don't want to live in that location. I went there, introduced myself, and sat in the waiting area, and the staff kinda forgot about me. It's just that the receptionist forgot to tell the salespeople, but they apologized. T…

My partner moved into Spiritwood at Pine Lake. The people have been very positive and responsive in helping her settle in. Her room size is good. We decorated it all ourselves, and it's a decent-sized room for her. I dined there, and the upkeep was good. The service was good, but she needed to adjust her diet, and they haven't done that yet. We visited Spiritwood at Pine Lake. We were looking for a place that offers both independent living and assisted living, where we would enter an independent living, but as needed down the line, we could get assisted care provided at the same place, so you don't have to move again. The director was fine. It was very nice. The only thing she had available that was empty was a one-bedroom, and we looked at that, and that was very nice, but a little small for us. My walk-through of Spiritwood at Pine Lake was very nice. The people were very friendly. They gave us all the information that we needed to have. And the reason we chose that is because it's close to our daughter's home, so it would be easy for the family to stay in touch. They have one-bedroom apartments. They have a courtyard and a laundry area, too. They have lots of stuff.

We toured Spiritwood at Pine Lake. We liked the cottage of the independent living very much, more so than the building. The tour guide was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and very welcoming. He was very good. The building seemed nice. It appeared to be clean. The halls were clean. It felt warm and welcoming. They had a sign welcoming my husband and myself, and I thought that was very nice.

Our Experience

Their Director of Nursing has been there for several years I think, and seems committed to providing great care. Although she isn't warm and fuzzy she is efficient, professional, responsive and helpful. The Executive Director has been there many years, has worked up the ladder, having done direct care jobs there. She is friendly, outgoing, helpful and seems to know what she is doing.
