I am/was a resident of this facility

My move here 16 years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My family lives in a large city 200 miles from here and although there were at least two retirement centers there, none compared with St. Catherine's either in quality or value. I have a lovely 3 bedroom house on a lake. Services provided include housekeeping, lawn care and maintenance of appliances. If service such as change of a refrigerator filter is needed usually a phone call within 20 minutes brings a worker who inserts a new filte…

I visited this facility

I toured St. Catherine's Village. The person took a lot of time and was not as hurried as the person at the other facility. There were several things that I liked about it. There is a chapel there, so there was more of a religious focus, which was important to me. They're not as big as the other facility, but they have a full kitchen, a storage area, and closets that were even a bit more storage than the other facility. It was quite a bit more expensive. It's a buy-in. Instead of just having your mea…

I visited this facility

We visited St. Catherine's Village in Madison and toured their independent living. One thing that I liked more than anything about it was the fact that I would be able to go to mass there without ever having to leave the facility. We are Catholic, so that is important. We were looking for a regular one-bedroom apartment, and the one we saw there seemed smaller than the one we looked at later on at another facility. The one we saw in the other facility was a single deluxe apartment, though, while the one we saw…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This place was once the best. Not true now. The staff has deteriored and the care as well. My mother was not dressed properly. Food is terrible like shoe leather. She has been allowed to fall twice on night shift lying with a broken hip and not reported until next day. Too busy on cell phones to notice. It was run by the sisters now corporate mess. 7900 a month for this

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Unfortunately my sweet Mother spent the end of her life at this place. Only wanting the best for her, we chose this particular facility as we had visited other family members there many, many years ago. My goodness what a difference time can make. Just remember that these facilities that you trust to take care of your loved ones when they are in their most fragile time of their life are only as good as the people that work there. With each week comes all new uncaring faces doing the minimum they can get away with. …

My Mother was admitted a few months before she passed. Assisted living. I would not recommend or wish this place on anyone. Lot's of marketing/promises, etc. But-basically they are just trying to hire any assistants/employees to help in each unit. Just like every other nursing type home. But they are not hiring top quality. Having experienced Saint Catherines and other speciality facilities - I would never recommend St. C.
