I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

It's very expensive and looks good on the outside, but it's not where I'd have my mom live anymore. It looks great, but unless residents are self-sufficient, they don't get enough care here. It should just be for independent living. It's understaffed, disorganized and more worried about profits than care of their residents. Making sure that residents are properly receiving their meds is a problem. Night and day and weekend staff all have disconnects with one another, so the individual needs…

Great facility

The facility is great, and there seems to be a larger group of active residents than other facilities we have experienced. Most issues we have encountered have been due to turnover of caregivers which seems to be typical in this industry. That said, turnover at The Blake is better than the other two facilities she has been in. Overall, very pleased.

I visited this facility

I like everything about The Blake at New Braunfels. It was my number one choice for the room size, staffing, and the upkeep of the building. It's also brand new. It's about 2 years old, so that's good. What I liked least about it was that the availability of the room wasn't what I needed. Everything was perfect about this place. I liked it so much. our families experience

I'm not happy with how the Blake handled my mom. She moved out in about a week. The care team was very good. I almost feel like they did a bait and switch because they evaluated my mom for assisted living and immediately moved her to memory care. My mom is not without fault but we weren't happy with how they handled it.
