PositiveMy mother has been at The Cottages of Lacey for several years and from what I’ve seen she receives wonderful care. She’s not someone who is easily pleased but no complaints from her and that’s a big deal. She enjoys playing cards with the staff and getting her nails done. Staff seemed either overworked or indifferent, and basic needs were consistently overlooked. PositiveMy mother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We placed her after an extensive search in the local area to the Cottages of Lacey. They group people mostly according to their stage of dementia and the amount of care they need. In my year of visiting with my mother on a very regular basis, I have witnessed the amount of wonderful care she's received there. All the staff know her, talk to her and genuinely care. CriticalWe placed my wife's mother at the Cottages last June. We discovered that Shirley was not being taken care of well. My wife often had to change her mother's clothing that had not been changed in many days. This included very soiled underwear. We had to transition my mother-in-law from Idaho Medicaid to Washington Medicaid which caused a delay in payment to the Cottages. CriticalDO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY!!!! They do not take care of their residents properly! My mother ended up with gangrene and almost lost her leg. They sued me for a full month+ of her participation fee, when she was only in the facility for two weeks. Due to their neglect of care, I had her remove. They filed a report with APS against me for not taking my mother to the doctor, when I knew nothing about it. CriticalThe staff would freak out over everything. The staff would call me at anytime of the night. Over one situation they had 10 staff members call me about it. It was stressful and would tell different stories to each family member. My loved one was there for less than two days.
