The kitchen staff was friendly and engaging. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The activities looked fun and relevant to the residents but my Mom was on hospice and didn't participate. Food was okay. My mom's first meal there was Monte Carlo, which was exciting however it was dry and didn't have much flavor. Most areas were clean but a resident across the hall was incontinent and hid her soiled briefs in her apartment which smelled up the whole hallway. The smell was obvious to everyone so I don'…

Overall experience was very positive. Most notable is the friendliness of both staff and residents. It truly feels like a close-knit community. My dad was only there for two weeks and he enjoyed getting to know everyone. Dad had a one bedroom apartment that was a nice size for one person or even a couple. The full kitchen was a nice feature but hardly used. Washer and Dryer in the unit is a definite bonus. And the ability to pay an additional fee if more personal care is needed is a plus. The tour at The Gables of Brighton was good. It was a short one because I simply just wanted to see the rooms, the dining room, and what made this place different. I didn't know it had been there for 40 years, so that seems to be reflected in the way it's constructed. They had some nice features. There's a washer and dryer within each room, so people didn't have to leave their room to go down to the end of the hall to do their laundry. The people were rather close together. It's not expansi…

My Mom hasn't been there since last November. She then went to the hospital and is now in skilled nursing. Scored lower on admin because corporate office doubled rent out of bank account. Multiple calls, they wouldn't communicate in writing (email). Ended up contacting bank to dispute charge. Gables is independent only.
