I visited this facility

I'm moving into The Grove at Athens. It's bright, the Cottages are each individual; they're not like duplexes. They seem to have an active community, and I saw other residents, and I said, " What do you like about it? " They all said the same things, and then I'd say, what do you not like? And they said, " We just don't like being here alone." It was sweet. Everybody was very friendly and caring. The staff member, Jennifer, has been right beside me. I have probably bothe…

I visited this facility

I like the way The Grove Athens was set up. I toured their independent living community and liked that you have a garage, a good-sized backyard, and a back deck, which you could have screened in. You have a front porch and really nice appliances. The living room is small, but the bedrooms are of a good size. They don't have a lot of room in the eating and living area, which is combined, but for one person, it's fine. They're decorated up to date, and the grounds are gorgeous. They pay all of your uti…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother loves living at The Grove in Watkinsville. She loves her accommodations and daily activities, especially the weekly van ride. Mostly, she loves all the caregivers. She thinks all of them have a special calling because each one is so patient and kind. I don't think I have ever visited my mother without someone stopping by to check on my mother or spend some time with her. Because my mother is so safe, happy and well-cared for, her family has much less stress in making sure her life is as good as possi…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved in. They have about 25 residents, they have three meals a day, and they have just a bedroom and a bath for each person. There is a lot of memory care folks out there, but we've been pleased. We're happy where she is until we need to go somewhere else. The rooms were originally built just as a single room, but now they have put two of them together, so you have a living space for the TV and chairs. They're not like apartments. It is just mainly a room because it was built a long time …

Excellent care, Great staff

My dad has been at Magnolia Estates for 4 years and I have nothing but great things to say about this assisted living home. The staff not only takes excellent care of the residents, but they are friendly and fun which makes it an enjoyable place to live. They create a family-like atmosphere that makes residents and family members feel at home. Because of the relatively small size of Magnolia Estates, the entire staff knows all the residents and are all aware of each of the resident’s needs. Therefore, their care is…

Magnolia Estates of Oconee An Excellent Choice

When my husband and I moved to the Athens area, we needed a retirement living facility for my dad. Magnolia Estates was recommended to us by friends whose mother had previously been a resident. We visited and were very impressed with the facility and the staff. We chose Magnolia Estates and have not one regret! My dad’s needs were more than met with care, respect and attentiveness. My dad grew to love several of the staff who cared for him and developed meaningful friendships with them and several of the residents.…
