This place was awful. Smelled of urine. Promised room repairs never done. My father's hearing aid lost in 2 days and they took no responsibility even though he had been in memory care for 2 years previously without any problem. Overcharged when I thankfully got him out. Promised to refund the overcharge but then told me it was too "complicated". I am still waiting on the promised refund over 2 years later. My father moved into The Hermitage and our experience so far has been very good. They were helpful in getting us the information my dad needed to move. Some of the activities they do include cards, games, movies, they go on outings, they have exercise classes, and trivia games for the residents. I'm very impressed with their rooms, they're large, fairly new, and there are good-sized rooms. What stood out to me was just the newness of it. It's on top of a hill, so it has a nice view. They've taken really good care of my mom at the Hermitage. Her meals and her medication have been handled very well. She can't take a shower when she wants to, and that really bothers her; she only has one shower a week, that is not what she is used to, and she doesn't feel like that it is enough. And the other issue is just that she is in with people with really advanced dementia, and it is really quite hard for her, like she came out of the bathroom one day, and there was a man asleep on her bed. My mom has been at The Hermitage for a week now. I'm a little disappointed with I have gotten for what we're paying for. It is a brand new facility that has just opened up within the last few years. I'm not very happy with the level of care. The facility is great. The people are very nice, too.
