Staff is exceptionally competent and helpful and friendly. To make this place exceptional one must use the facilities, the classes and travel opportunities. It is two miles from the Rehaboth Beach Boardwalk. It is VERY expensive.

Truitt Homestead is only a few years old and is bright and cheery. The staff is so welcoming and attentive. One example is when Mom needed to go for an X-ray on a Saturday. One of the senior staff came in to take her, wait for her and take her home. Lastly, ther residents are so friendly and fun. Mom really enjoys her time there.

The tour at The Lodge at Truitt Homestead was very comprehensive. We got to physically look at their various departments, which was very helpful. I think I liked it all. I asked a couple of the residents if they liked living there, and they said they did very much. The room was very nice. The only question I always have is storage. I was told that they have an agreement with the local storage area, but the individual ones at the lodge were not there. We saw a number of people participating in certain activities. We…

They have been fantastic about helping Mom adjust and keeping her informed about what's goin on. They're very inclusive. They see her in the hallway and ask how things are going. They make suggestions about activities and encourage her to come down to the dining room to dine with other residents. They're very responsive. The apartment is excellent and very high-end. It's roomy and bright, and it has everything she needs. It's very convenient.

I had an in-person tour of The Lodge at Truitt Homestead. The facility was beautiful. They had some larger accommodations and some just a few hundred square feet. If independent living was what I needed, I would certainly consider it. The staff was very nice. They had a courtyard where people could go outside and sit. They had some activities.
