PositiveThe tour at The Meridian was very good, and they have a beautiful place. They had some Christmas activities going on, and that kind of stuff. It wasn't for us, but it was very nice. When I called back, because my husband has dementia, I was told that once they can't start doing for themselves, they send them to a place in Texas City. I didn't want anything out of the city. I needed to stay right in Galveston. The staff was very nice. They had a library and a great big area where they performed and ha…

CriticalI visited The Meridian's independent living in Galveston, and the grounds are very nice; it's kept up very well. However, the staff was not so polite and not very friendly. They weren't very sociable, and I think they need to improve their friendliness towards people coming in. I saw the residents enjoying watching a big TV they had for them. They have a facility with a washer and dryer for the residents to use, and they also have them inside the apartments.

PositiveI love the way the staff works together. At times I see the same aide working on the floor when I go and visit my family member. That's what I call dedication.

PositiveMy friend is in rehab at The Meridian. He moved in after his hospitalization. It seems very adequate. He has been progressing a bit in his ability to move around. I talked to the physical therapy people yesterday and we talked about what I need him to be able to do. They were very receptive to my input. I saw his food that he got and it looked delicious. He ate every bit of it, so that was good. They have been pretty responsive to my concerns and questions. He has only been there a week. They are trying to be very …

PositiveI was sent to Meridian for rehab after breaking my hip. ALL of the staff welcomed me and made me feel at home! The rehab and care was excellent. I would highly recommend them. The check-out and doctor is the only reason I would not give a five star. The doctor time response was lacking. The checkout was not coordinated efficiently, however, the overall care was excellent!!

PositiveWe moved my dad into the Meridian several years ago after I had taken care of him in my home for five years. Though we were both nervous, starting with our very first encounter with staff, we knew we made the right decision. Every staff member we encountered over the last three years was loving, warm and real. My Dad absolutely adored everyone who worked there from the maintenance department who helped put his recliner together, to the front office staff, to the med aids and nurses...they were all wonderful. They g…
