I visited this facility

I visited the independent living portion of The New Burton Homestead in Rome, and I actually liked the place. The only thing was that I wanted a bigger living space. They didn't have enough bigger rooms to accommodate me. They were all already taken. That was the only downfall with that place. Overall, it was good. The person who gave the tour gave me an application. I explained to her that this was my first visit and that I was exploring other places as well. The staffing was good. I actually enjoyed talking …

My brother is at The New Burton Homestead. He's doing quite well there. He still has problems with falling, but they take really good care of him. They have a couple of nurses who help him out. They make sure he gets his medication on time. For him, it's a very comfortable living experience. He has a single room with a bathroom. It has a stand-up shower. We installed a TV for him so he could watch that. It's a comfortable accommodation. It's not overly large, but it is large enough for him. They…

We toured The New Burton Homestead. The tour was excellent. The people had their rooms, and then there were common rooms where they could watch TV or play games. The dining area was small, but it was comfortable. It was a small facility. I think they may only have had 20 rooms. The staff was outstanding, answered all our questions, and were with us the whole time, walking around and showing us. I thought my sister would have been happy, though. The original building was fine, but with the layout inside, I thought t…

My parents moved to The New Burton Homestead. We're still trying to get them settled because they were still downsizing from their apartment, but overall, they're very happy with the people and the facility. Most of the rooms are just a single room, but my parents pay for a double. They just have a place for a bed across from one end, a bathroom in the middle, and a recliner. I mean, it's more like just a room separated by a bathroom, no cabinets or cupboards or anything. At one end, they have a smal…

The New Burton Homestead was nice. The tour guide was very friendly, very outgoing, and very knowledgeable about her residents. The dining area and the open kitchen were also nice. You could go there and cook communally. I just wish the facility was positioned somewhere farther than on the corner of the highway, so it could have more of a scenic view around it. Other than that, I liked that they were pet-friendly, that they had a sunroom, and a garden that they worked on.

My mom has moved into The New Burton Homestead. We chose it because it was available. The communication has been good. The food is good. Her room is conveniently laid out; it's small and very clean. There are several family rooms. They had a little reading area, and a room where they can do hairdressing and that type of thing. It was less expensive than any place else I looked at. They do offer laundry services.
