CriticalThe apartment looks nice but there are things that should not exist. 1: When I first moved in if something was wrong maintenance would handle it now it’s an act of Congress to get anything done. 2. There are rats if they are mice they're big, I have reported this and no response. 3. The residents are racist when I attend activities (only attended 2) I was treated like I don't belong. One lady told me with a giggle you see that the pool exercise has stopped ever since you came to the water aerobics, haha as she i…

PositiveOverall I have to give all employees from the top down a 5. Everyone I've needed for one reason or another have always been pleasant and helpful. I don't use the fitness room but it always seems clean and there are some residents that use it every day. I like the pool. It's clean, the area around it is maintained so you don't have to worry about tripping on left behind equipment. There's plenty of activities, day trips, weekly entertainment & dances. I don't eat many meals at the veranda but the times I have they t…

PositiveThe Oaks at Plano has been a good choice. The staff is helpful and the residents I have met are very friendly. The complex has elevators which I needed and several activities.

The first contact with ' A Place for Mom, and especially the initial contact with The Oaks at Plano was warm and inviting. I felt like I belonged!
★★★★★
CriticalIt is a place where mom can remain independent and also have activities, meals and friends. Unhappy that they lost their chef and now dining is closed 2 day a week. Also maintained request are very slow to get completed

PositiveI went to The Oaks at Plano. They don't have a lot of safeguards, but they have beautiful grounds and nice spacious rooms. They only serve breakfast. You can order lunch and dinner from the chef for an extra fee. It's only about $8 or $9, or you can just fix your own because they have full kitchens. I really like their activities. They had two classes going on when I was there. One was an art class, and it was an actual art class with people painting, and they had an instructor who was also a member of th…
