Our experience at Philomena has been great so far. They have kind and compassionate caregivers and my mom really feels like they care about her. Although my mom is not very social, I see lots of nice gatherings of residents and everyone seems to be comfortable and happy. My mom has lived in a couple different facilities and it seems that there is not as much turnover of staff at the Philomena, so I hope that means that they are paying and treating their staff well.

When we first went to Philomena, the Director and Community Relations Director were very friendly and professional. After we signed on, they seemed to ignore us. I have to say they were the best sales people I have ever met. Post-sales, they were unprofessional. The staff was great. They were caring, friendly, and professional. My mother was well cared for. The Director decided to replace many of the people working at Philomena with people she had worked with at a prior location. After that happened, Philomena fell…

We had a very good experience. Value for cost is difficult because it is expensive but all the facilities we visited were about the same. I gave Philomena 5s, however, we started to see the evidence of standards lowering due to the director bringing in employees from her prior facility(ies). The individual that we thought was one of the best employees and who treated my mother in an exemplary way was fired after we left. This individual had a feeling he was going to be fired.

I would probably say that no where is perfect but everything at Philomena is satisfactory and they seem to want to make everyone's experience a good one. It's a nice, cheery facility and the rooms are comfortable. The executive staff seemed more willing to accommodate my mom's needs. They were very accepting of her.
