My father was put in this facility by my stepmother. While I visited my father who was bedridden, I noticed that the facility and room that he was in was very dirty even the screen was torn. My father was 95 and a half years old and was wearing diapers one of the days that I was there no nurse even came to change his diaper I had to go get them, nobody tried to feed him and nobody ever came into the room. There is no phones in the room or no call buttons. While I was there I saw a rat run across the floor to the op…

Like most ALFs, Willow Manor puts on ...

Like most ALFs, Willow Manor puts on a good a good show when you tour. Owner Signore and Director Powell sure are convincing when it comes to making you think, “This is the place for Dad!” If your loved one qualifies for VA, don’t let on right away…trust me…they will have a place for you anyway and that only signals to them they have a green light to up the rent once the VA is flowing…and they will. Once settled in, you will not have one phone call or one email returned. Even if you go in person, you will be put of…

Dormitory for the Elderly

My mother lives here and has been here over a year. The facility does not provide any services; its basically a dormitory for the elderly which also has a cafeteria. They dole out medication as well. Read your contract very carefully; the contract clearly states that the provider (not the ALF) is responsible for doctors, nurses, wound care, travel, etc. Rooms are small but adequate and they each have private bathrooms and lots of closet space. Its not easy to wander off the premises and they have courtyards. They a…

Working Out

They took my mom at the last moment when another place didn't work out, and I was grateful. She's been there since. It is good! She is going to need a lot more care in the near future, but I feel that they can handle it. My mother really loves the director, she feels like they really relate. It is safe for her in that she can't wander out, but she doesn't feel cooped up like a typical memory care unit.
