CriticalIn independent living with 5 hours of home health care per day, my father's home got ants, I walked into a lake of urine in his bathroom just after an aide had left, his sheets were not cleaned if they were soiled, they did not help him cover his wound dressings when he showered, they did not help him to order food for meals. When they insisted another level of care was needed, we received calls from him laying on the floor in skilled nursing and not knowing how to get help to get off the floor.

CriticalBoth of my parents have now been in higher levels of care there. For the amount of money we pay each month you would expect better communication, more short visits by staff when family can’t be there, and greater effort at meeting ALL needs of the residents. I had originally planned on going there when I needed such a facility, but there is no way I would go there now. There are excellent staff members there; unfortunately and sadly, the other negatives outweigh their excellence.

PositiveMy mother is still at Twin Lakes Community. It is excellent. Moving into assisted living, they have a brand-new facility, which is beautiful, very accessible, spacious, airy, and enjoyable to be in. The staff are very personable and very caring. Whatever is requested, it tends to be done almost immediately. They're on the spot, they're there to care and they show it. They have a cafeteria style, and the food has always been very good. It's onsite and only probably 40 yards away from where my mom live…

PositiveI thought Twin Lakes Community had a lot of really good stuff, but they don't offer the same thing that everybody does. For example, if you take transportation, they charge you $0.80 a mile and they also don't have weekly or biweekly cleaning. They do it once a year, but I don't think that's very good. They don't have laundry facilities in the apartments. They also have a large buy-in. Anyway, we haven't ruled them out, but we just think their amenities are not the same as everyone els…

PositiveTwin Lakes Community was top notch. Everybody who worked with me (like the sales person) was very nice. They were very open and talked to me. They called me when I'd call them or had to leave a message. They'd call me back or something. They were very on top of things in communications. The nurse came in to talk to my friend and give her an assessment of where she needed to go. She was very professional, and gave my friend her test. That is when they said that she really belongs in memory care. I did not …

PositiveI am currently at Twin Lakes Community. I'm very happy and very content, but they don't offer anything right now. I'm in my own home. I haven't been here long enough to know the staff.
