Vineyard Park at Lynden Manor

My dad's girlfriend was a resident of Vineyard Park of Lynden Manor. It seemed to be very clean. She had her own private room. It was small, but it was definitely clean. It had a nice sense of community. There always seemed to be a group of people around in the lounge or in the eating area together, or outside sitting in the gazebo in the sun. Not a good fit

Communication and availability of the admins is key to responding to everyday questions and emergencies. There are no admin available after 4 pm. So that was a concern of mine when I was looking at this place. Also there is no security. I feel that anyone can come in and roam the halls.

First rate facility

My mother has lived at Lynden Manor for over 5 years. We chose this facility as a family based on recommendations of friends and some familiarity of other assisted living services available in Whatcom county. Mom is a very independent person and resisted the idea that she couldn’t care for herself but she required much more support than we could provide. I visited this facility

Visited this facility along with others and was pleasantly surprised at the interactions with the residents that live there and the staff. I have had many family members in a couple different facilities and this was one of the better ones I have been in. I did have lunch and the meal was good and staff was very responsive to some of my dietary needs, as I have some allergies. They did seem a bit busy, but to me was providing good service overall. I took a tour of Lynden Manor, and I did not like the atmosphere at all. It just did not have a very comfortable, homely feeling to me. I knew right away that it would not be a good fit for me, so I continued my search.
