I live in the Westchester Village of Lenexa. It's a very Christian home, so everybody really cares for each other. We get breakfast and lunch for the independent living section, and the cleaning lady comes in once a week. It has a big enough kitchen and bathroom. It's just very friendly and very nicely run. They have dominoes and card games that people play. There are a lot of evenings when somebody will meet, and they'll just get together and play certain games. They have bingo, I think, twice a wee…

I visited this facility

I toured Westchester Village of Lenexa. I didn't like the buildings as well as the apartments. I didn't like the layout. Everything was very far away. And the connection of the buildings, even though they were all connected, it was kind of confusing. The staff was very nice. The director was very informative and very nice, too. They did have a very small garden, but none of the apartments had either a porch or something that you could go out to.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has been at Westchester Village of Lenexa's assisted living since February and he's happy there. The place is very clean and up-to-date. There's an exercise room and a hairdresser. They also have bus trips and regular outings to grocery stores, Wal-Mart, and things like that. They provide transport to the doctor's office and doctor's appointments. They also have a preacher who comes in once a week and they do Bible study. The staff seems very attentive and professional. They'…

Your loving kindness and care for my parents has always been evident. We have greatly appreciated and enjoyed the atmosphere and loving care that both our parents enjoyed. Regarding staff - from the cleaning lady, to the laundry lady, the sweet way they greeted Mom was meaningful. The excellent CNAs provided the needed care with tenderness - the care has been kind and sweet. Thank you out of the bottom of all our hearts.

A place that goes above and beyond

Mom's 1st fall led to 9 weeks of pain and substandard care in rehab facilities and with her passing. During this 9 weeks it was decided that Mom and Dad would not be able to remain in their home of 50+ years and after extensive research Westchester Village was selected for their Assisted Living accommodations. We moved Dad in and Mom moved to their Skilled Nursing to complete her rehab but the falls and her illness won that battle. With Dad in Assisted Living, regulations prevented Mom from joining him for hospice.…

Family atmosphere

Our family chose Westchester for our mom. She received wonderful care and we felt she was safe, what a relief for us. All of the staff made us feel like family, We were surrounded with kindness during the difficult days we were experiencing. Comfort and compassion, we as a family were able to put all trepidations aside. We will be recommending Westchester Village to others.
