Our family friend is staying in Westhampton Care Center for long-term care. They do rehabilitation. He is in a dementia care unit, which is called a locked unit. They do all kinds of activities for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, like help with the brain and coordination, and you get the whole nine yards. The staff is wonderful. The room he's in is very nice, and it's a private one, and the facility is very clean.

These people do not know how to treat patients with Respect and Dignity, they are short staffed, or poorly staffed, they take zero time and are very rough with the patients, very few aides talk to the patients they order them around and are rough with them! They don't make sure the residents eat, aren't diapering in a reasonable time, even diapering sleeping patients, with out the respect of waking and talking to them! They then stick them in a day room where no one is watching, they are slumped over and …

Outdated rooms, constant under staffed, some aids are caring, some aids are not and some aids were down right cruel and should be dismissed. Pt is only once a day and saff does not follow their recommendations to get patient mobile. The OT & PT staff was helpful. The food was acceptable. Overall my stay was mostly be rest and I needed to be moving. If you have a love one in this place visit often or they are at the mercy of the staff.

And krostin in social work is horrible unethical uncaring she set up a discharge plan for my mom without me even knowing they are trying to kick her out with only 2 aids in place a buffalo ny agency . Then the responsibility is all put on me which I have a disability myself I cant take care of my mom. They dont care because she has medicaid they want her out not caring if the aids are reliable.
