PositiveThe experience of getting into the facility was very easy and very fast. The renovations are really lovely and feel modern. The food quality is very low. For an example on meal was a thin slice of bland chicken with sauce, frozen veggies, canned sweet potato's and jello for dessert. I was very surprised. They advertise alternative foods in each pod but once it was only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that had been made ahead in the morning. The food often arrives to his unit cold. My dad refuses to eat most of …

PositiveIt was small but very nice and comfortable looking. I am concerned about the high ratio of military retiring there - they are not often so comfortable with retired academics, in my experience, although I wouldn’t expect that to be a huge problem. The location is excellent.
★★★★★
PositiveThey have a warm caring staff who treat every resident with dignity and respect. The food is outstanding. The physical surroundings are nice with lots of windows and a beautiful outdoor sitting area. They have taken extremely good care of my husband. Your organization was even more of a lifeline by guiding me through the entire extremely stressful process of finding a place. Every place I went to visit was exceptional. Your organization is truly a gift.

PositiveThere were issues getting all the paperwork done at the beginning. I was notified at 6:00 PM that there was an issue with the medical paperwork the day before she was scheduled to stay that would stop them from being able to take her. This was very stressful as we had uncancelable airline tickets. We got it handled and all ended up being verygood. Her room was a good size for a temporary stay, the whole place was spotless. I had a cookie that was very good, my Mother in Law did not complain about the food so that w…

CriticalThey lied about some of the service that my sweetheart was getting. They said they would have someone in at night in the room and they didn't. He fell 5 times in two weeks so they weren't watching him very good or not at all. Probably he complained about the food.
★★★★★
CriticalWhere the Heart Is was very dated. I didn't like their setup. They don't have a dining area or separate activity rooms. They don't have a theater room, or sitting areas for residents. We ran into one med-tech. She was pleasant. We spoke with Jennifer and Patty. Jennifer was very nice. I think she was the director, but the front desk lady, I think her name was Patty, kept repeating things and didn't know -- I guess she's been there a while, but she kept forgetting where she was going. She co…
