Positive

Basically a Good Place to Be

Woodland is a relatively small, homey place. The Independent Living units are fairly large with plenty of storage space. Staff is quick to learn the names of residents, and go out of their way to greet people. Concerns are fairly quickly addressed, although not always solved. Maintenance issues are quickly seen to. Dining issues are being addressed, both quality of food and service problems. We are independent residents, so do not know about Assisted Living.

A Huge Weight Off My Shoulders

This facility is better than I could have hoped for! My brother's studio assisted living apartment is perfect for him. The staff has been exemplary as of this date. I know no place is perfect, but my experience with Woodland has been wonderful! My brother is happier than I've seen him in YEARS!

Beautiful area and easy living.

Some of the things we really liked about Woodland retirement is how friendly everyone in management and the other tenants. We eat maybe three or four times in the dining room. They try very hard to get food the way you want it. They have so many activities that are pretty nice. Great library, movie theater that we donated about 600 DVDs. The office staff are great! Very helpful. A couple things we aren't really impressed with, the dryer on our floor takes forever. My husband washed two pairs of jeans, one large to…

Smaller scale than some of the other retirement places, so more personalized. Great storage in our unit. Maintenance is outstanding. The food leaves much to be desired.

Would not recommend.

Very disappointing....room was filthy...bathroom was the worst.... toilet was black from not being cleaned. The staff was ever changing... was often said they will help but they don't. They were not doing the laundry ( I had to do his laundry... approximately 5-6 loads. The laundry really smelled bad) Only person I felt was really good, was the nurse who dispenses the medication. My brother is blind, so he never knew what his room looked like. Very unfortunate.

My Experience As A Newbie.

I like the closet and storage space in the unit. Maintenance is fairly fast in addressing problems. One thing they should improve on is to increase the size of servings of vegetables in the meals! It is often very inadequate.
