CriticalLack of follow through on health needs
Once again, I’m disappointed with this assisted living facility. I am my brother’s medical power of attorney. I signed him up for flu and COVID vaccinations. American House was going to provide them. After I double checked to ensure he received the vaccines, I found out he did not. My brother has been a resident for two and a half years. I am tired of running behind them to make sure they do their jobs!!

There are more independent living residents than assisted living residents which gives the community a vibrant feel. Alcohol is permitted and even served. Residents are treated like adults. Very kind staff.

So far so good. They were good about quickly fixing anything she hasn't been happy with. The apartment is very nice. She doesn't drive so the shuttle service has been very helpful. The people are nice and she has made quite a few friends. She's glad to be there despite some initial hesitation.

CriticalI think [name removed], who administered the tour, is fantastic. The facility is beautiful and the staff seems great. I was going to move my wife here. Unfortunately, the Director of the Memory Care unit felt my wife would be too much trouble to care for as a person with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and a fall risk, so they did not want to accept her. So, if your loved one has more than just simple dementia, I would look elsewhere for a Memory Care Unit.
