A Comfortable ALF

The 2 caregivers live at the house, so someone is always available, which allows for familiarity, and they have a good backup system when the caregiver needs a day or 2 off. The food is pretty good. There is a lovely porch that has heat or AC when needed. A nurse comes every 4 or 5 days. However, the visiting internist is male, and mother preferred a female doctor.

Review for Ameristar Assisted Living

They are doing a great job! Staff is always kind and professional. And my MIL does seem to have adjusted quite well there and enjoys the food. It's very expensive! I do think our price she b lower. My MIL is very low maintenance and doesn't require the assistance of other residents

Ameristar Assisted Living review

The caregivers take good care of my mom and the house is always clean. They could improve on the communication. My mom has difficulty calling the caregivers when she needs them. They don't have any type of call buttons. Also because my mom is total and they don't have a handicap shower they have not figured out a way to give her a shower. That's a problem for us.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law moved into Ameristar Assisted Living II. It's a small home, so it has a more homey feel. The staff is very caring and patient. I can talk directly to the people who take care of her, express our concerns or say things that we want done or don't want done, or ask questions, and we can get that all answered.

Thank you

I give Ameristar 5 stars on all categories. They have been extremely helpful and very accommodating. The facility is well kept. Momma is eating all of her meals. She looks good and healthy. She is still a little fussy, but, at her age, that's to be expected. She will be 99 years old this Sunday. Thank you for the recommendation.

Critical

The facility is 'homey' ,uncluttered, and very peaceful. The director was cordial and informative. The small size seems appropriate for people with dementia. My concern is the capability of staff to manage clients with behavior problems. Requires further evaluation
