★★★★★
PositiveGood ratio of staff to residents. My friend enjoys the food. Artis works hard to engage and involve family members. I would recommend Artis for a person needing memory care. Artis is probably more expensive than the average.
★★★★★
PositiveThe facility is clean and the staff are friendly. There are several nurses who attend to my mom and they are very thorough and attentive. Due to the structure of the facility, the residents do not have phones so to contact a resident, arrangements need to be made with the nurse when she visits the resident. Sometimes this works well but sometimes the nurse forgets and that is a bit frustrating although due to the condition of many residents it is the only option. CriticalMy mom was previously a resident at Artis. When she needed help, only certain staff would help. One time, someone even said no and sat down and went on their phone.
★★★★★
PositiveLocation good. If patient can take advantage of all of the activities, then you get more of your moneys worth. My mother can't. She's too far gone. She's got hospice. It is not a nursing home so we have somebody visiting her every day and helping her. However, it is for dementia patients and I don't think they're staffed up enough to help all the patients. They're very expensive too very very clean rooms are nice if you can afford it it's worth it.
★★★★★
PositiveThey've hired a lot of new people so it's just getting the new team up to speed. Better communication between residents and families. That their entire focus is memory care. I liked the smaller neighborhoods and various areas to dine, watch TV, socialize. Felt more like a home than a facility.
★★★★★
PositiveMy wife is in Artis Senior Living of Wilmette. It is good, but it's very expensive. The staff is good. They offer lectures, movies, and some activities, like throwing the ball. The rooms are all good, but there's no Medicaid. They have a very nice general menu. They should have a Medicaid accommodation. If they had that, that would be perfect.
