I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents are residents of Asbury Chandler Estate. The girls are good to Mom and Dad. They are friendly and helpful although when it comes to help, my dad fell and had to wait after 20 minutes for people to finally get down to him. Then they just made us move my parents upstairs, which none of us were happy about. They had a little cottage or a little apartment, and they did say it was because their conditions had worsened, and they wanted them upstairs because they would get better care, which I'm not seeing…

Caring and helpful staff and environment

As I reflect on a bustling and boisterous Thanksgiving day with my family (Mom included), many things come to mind - impossibly delicious food, hilarious antics, and special family connections. I can safely say that we all went home not only a few pounds heavier, but also a few pounds lighter in spirit. Home is a different place to all of us, but it’s where we want to return to relax, unwind, and recap the day’s events. What made yesterday extra special for us was knowing that Mom was anxious to return “home” to ge…

I visited this facility

I went here. Our experience was overall positive. The woman who took us on the tour is not the person who usually does tours. She explained that wasn't her normal job, but I think she did a good job. She was like, "Just any questions, call back." The top floor was the more intensive care. The rooms were tiny. It was just a toilet and sink. There were no bathing facilities in the rooms. There was a very large shower bathing room where staff would assist the residents, which we were not thrilled with. …

I visited this facility

It was very good and had a very fine layout. They offer everything, except for a pool. If you have a cottage and you get sick, they could move you into the assisted care facility. We walked through a two-bedroom cottage with a garage, a living room, a dining area, and a kitchen. I also liked their meal plan. You can pick and choose if you want a meal and you pay separately for it. It was a very nice tour. It was something that we were very interested in, but unfortunately, they have a three-year waiting list.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother lived in a private room at The Chandler Estate for 4 years before she passed away there last fall. The staff were so accommodating to her needs throughout all of the changes in her stay there. They really knew their business inside and out and noticed things that we didn't see when we visited. As a very involved family member I can say that mostly any request I made was met with a smile or an explanation as to why it couldn't (you wouldn't believe how many regulations they have to follow!) …

My dad has been here for over a month. It's very clean, very warm, and inviting. It has facilities for independent living and assisted living. Their meals are excellent. Their services and their people are great. They take the residents out to eat every so often and do plenty of activities. They have two dining areas upstairs and apartments downstairs. It is in a wagon wheel shape where they have short hallways coming off the common area. There are other rooms to play cards and to watch TV.
