Mom had been at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Crofton for a couple of times for several weeks. She had occupational therapy, just overall support, and some physical therapy, but she really didn't have the capacity at her stage. We did what we could with her, within her limits. She would participate accordingly. They were exceptional, attentive, and absolutely wonderful. The facility was top-notch. I had no complaints whatsoever. Food was above good based on her dietary needs. There were a couple of slight hiccups,…

The facility has a nice ambiance and is overall, very clean, and most of the staff are exceptionally kind, sweet caregivers. (Out of ten caregivers, I'd say two were attitudinal.) The food, however, is unfit animals, and I'd challenge the owners/chef to eat what they serve for a month. . The food is often unrecognizable--bland, cold, alternatives are rarely delivered when requested. Who eats canned corn with a chicken sandwich; but I guess they had to check a vegetable box for the day(? )They are often sh…

My husband stayed at this facility last year following a serious UTI, and after a very bad experience we had to leave to go to a hospital emergency room. He had been there for about 3 weeks, receiving minimally adequate care, though the physical and occupational therapy were good. On the last weekend he was there an incompetent and hostile nurse was supposedly taking care of him. She refused to empty his catheter though it obviously needed it, and he was having pain which she ignored. On Saturday night the doctor w…

Hire better staff and people who cares. Don’t try to keep patients mediocre. Don’t give them blankets with fresh soil on it. Make food trays more appealing.

The food is not good and is Luke warm! Why are visitors being allowed to come in when your COVID numbers are high? It doesn’t make sense—don’t you agree?

Since Autumn Lake acquired Crofton Convalescent & Care the summer of 2021, everything changed. Lots of staff turnover, a lack of communication between staff, etc. They built a nice covered patio for the residents’ use, but then kept it locked. Bed landline phones would get unplugged by staff making it hard to communicate with residents. Turnover in the Activities staff meant sometimes there were great activities available or virtually nothing going on. The rehab staff seemed to do a good job, though.
