The staff is very friendly, the apartment is spacious, bright and clean. There are plenty of activities and the food is great. The only downside fall so far is the lack of communication. We've asked for assistance for my mother via email through one of the nursing staff, it went unanswered and I've called and left a message and a week went by with no response.

I cannot recommend Avery Heights based on my family's experience. My mother suffers from Lewy Body dementia, one of the most challenging and heartbreaking conditions a family can face. We found a place for my parents at Avery Heights in Hartford. They moved into their assisted living facility. It seems very great and cheerful. The staff seems very, very friendly and helpful. I know they have a library, and I think they also have a book group. My parents are not involved yet, but my mom likes to knit, and I think they have a knitting club or something.
