I liked everything about the independent living community of Sky Active Desoto Beach Club. The only thing I dislike is it's location, and that's not their fault. It's probably 45 minutes away from where I live now, and I prefer to find somewhere close to where I live. I liked that this place was older but beautiful and kept up beautifully. I would give you a 5 for 1-5. 6 I didn't taste food but the menu items were exciting! Can't speak for activities but seemed like there was a lot to do. I was able to get better pricing in Bradenton but it was an older facility. We liked the Sarasota location better since my client is familiar with the area.

There is no care at this facility so I did not answer. I think when most of the people check in here, they do not realize that there is no faculty or staff here after 7:30. Most expect that there is someone to talk to or ask a question. And I don't think the staff realizes that these people are old and each has a special problem of their own. But they need to read up on the geriatric group.

Since [date removed] this place has been a construction site for interior renovation. 100 residents have endured delays dust noise workers in hallways vying for one elevator access. Sarasota County has issued a stop work order for unpermitted work. Work was begun without a licensed general contractor; one reportedly has been hired though unnamed. No end is in sight.

I toured Sky Active Desoto Beach Club. It was very clean. The staff was great and friendly. They showed the dining room, the studio apartment, and their office. I believe the meals were included.
